It’s beautiful to witness the union of two individuals from different races and religions. Andrew Yep, from Andrew Yep Photographie was behind the lens, capturing all the precious moments for Arif and Aili.
Andrew said, “Malaysia is truly a beautiful country which houses many diverse religions and cultures. I am so blessed to be a Malaysian and having many opportunities to cross-path with different cultures of our fellow Malaysians.”

Gate Crashing
The gate crashing segment commonly seen in Chinese weddings was beautifully mixed into their wedding. Arif and his groomsmen were sporting, readily took up challenges in the department of beauty, fitness and dance!
A White Nikah
We love how simple and elegant this wedding is. Andrew named this wedding, A White Nikah because of the white theme; Aili’s white gown, Arif’s white Baju Melayu and the beautiful white pelamin during their Akad Nikah. He added, “the tone they set for the wedding theme is of white and very pastel colours which were very pleasing on the eyes.”
Our focus was on the people that was with us sharing our union
Aili wanted a simple and elegant wedding, she said “Our focus was on the people that was with us sharing our union.”
A special moment for the bride
A memorable moment for the bride was during the Akad Nikah (solemisation in Malay weddings). Aili said, “Andrew managed to capture a shot of my father during the recitation of sekali-lafaz. That was a very special shot for me.”
Childhood Sweethearts
Aili and Arif were classmates throughout their primary school education. They dated for four years during their high school days, before they went on their own paths. A decade later, the childhood sweethearts found their way back to each other and started dating again. 🙂
Aili: “We knew we were meant for each other from the beginning. But we were too young. Arif wrote me a love letter when we were 12 years old, that completely swept me off my feet. We knew we complement each other in more ways than one. I’m impatient, he is the most patient person I’ve met, I’m rigid, he is free spirited, and the list goes on. Our respect for each other as an individual has definitely made us who we are now as a couple.”
We would like to thank Aili and Arif for sharing with us their wedding day with us. Kudos to Andrew for beautifully documenting their big day.
